WHS Expert Meeting on Cybersecurity in Healthcare, an M8 Alliance event



Context :

This WHS Expert Meeting on Cybersecurity in Healthcare is organized and hosted the 11th of April 2018 by the University of Geneva (Institute of Global Health at the Faculty of Medicine) and the University Hospital of Geneva (HUG), as members of the M8 Alliance.


It is built on three sequences:

  1.  8:15am - 45 min keynote address made by Prof. Jean-Pierre Hubaux (EPFL, Lausanne) who will present and explain blockchains and other methods foreseen to be widely used in the near future to improve cybersecurity in healthcare;
  2.  9:00am - 90 min panel plenary session chaired by Prof. Detlev Ganten (Charité, Berlin) when professionals of healthcare will share field experience and debate with experts about cyber hazards in hospitals;
  3.  11:00am - 90 min workshop when 15 experts designated by the members of the M8 Alliance and ICRC (co chaired by Marie-Valentine Florin, EPFL and Bruce Eshaya-Chauvin, ICRC-UNIGE) will present and discuss their work undertaken during the past six months which delivers a Scoping Review on the topic and a set of practical recommendations to help protecting better against cyber attacks in healthcare.
